EDLYA stands for East District Lutheran Young Adults. It is a group composed of Lutheran young adults, run by Lutheran young adults, for Lutheran young adults. From the East District! (Yes, it’s the East Region now, don’t worry about it)
We meet together throughout the year at various retreats. These retreats offer an opportunity to get together and pray together, worship together, and see that there actually are other people my age in the church. (It’s true!)
We define a “young adult” as someone between the ages of 18-35.
We try to have a retreat even season – winter, spring, summer, and fall. But results may vary.
In a nutshell, people arrive on Friday evenings. Saturday there will be a short Bible Study and other activities. Sunday is church and then departure.
We typically sleep over in a church so please make sure to bring a sleeping bag and mat/air mattress, pillow etc. plus anything else needed for an overnight stay (toiletries, clothes, etc). Feel free to bring board games to play with the group. If any of the weekend’s activities require special items to bring, it will be noted on the event’s page. The summer 2026 retreat includes a trip to Petrie Island, which has a beach, on Saturday afternoon. Please bring a swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, and whatever would make a beach trip enjoyable for you.
Food (meals and snacks) will be provided!
In order to cover the price of food and other expenses, we charge a $30 registration fee per retreat. This is to keep our organization self-sufficient.
If this is a difficulty for you, please let us know. Money should not be a barrier.
